Our Story

The story of the Decade for Peace begins with the marriage preparation of an Iranian–Lebanese couple.

Marriage is a celebration of love and of life — a moment usually marked by joyful anticipation and the hope of being surrounded by family. For this couple, that joy was unexpectedly interrupted, turning into uncertainty and distress.

Their situation becomes a quiet reminder: human life is fragile, and peace cannot be taken for granted. It calls us to pray — insistently and consistently — for peace in the world and for an end to war.

This first month is offered for their countries of origin. The intention is simple: that every human life, so precious before God who created it, may be protected, nurtured, and sustained through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima.

From Monday to Friday at 7am, please join in praying one decade for peace.

How to Join

You do not need any special setting or preparation.

Simply set your alarm for 7am and begin.

You may be at home, having your morning coffee, walking, exercising, on the bus or underground, driving, or getting ready for the day.

The decade takes only a few minutes to pray.

It is good practice to begin and end with the Sign of the Cross.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father,

and to the Son,

and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning,

is now,

and ever shall be,

world without end.

Amen.

O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
